FABIO BARBAGLINI

Born at Desio September 8 1974, he lives at Arona on Lake Maggiore where he started, 14, the first experiences in the kitchens of local restaurants. After some experiences abroad, he started his most significant experience: as chef de partie at the Antica Osteria del Ponte at Cassinetta di Lugagnano (3 Michelin stars) in which his cooking training chief was Ezio Santin. In 1998, he opened his restaurant “Caffè Groppi” at Trecate with which in 1999 he was awarded the Year Performance by the Espresso guide, in 2002 the award Young Chef of the Year always by the guide of the Espresso, in 2003 he was finalist at Cook of the Year, the competition held at Campione d’Italia, in 2004 1 Michelin star.

Other experiences were associated with awards and prizes until September 2012 when he reopened as chef-patron the Antica Osteria del Ponte at Cassinetta di Lugagnano, an iconic cooking place, internationally acclaimed.

Currently he is a consultant and manages projects in the field of food service.
